Icon of the Mother of God "Quick to Hear"

The Icon of the Mother of God "Quick to Hear" is one of the most beloved and revered Orthodox icons of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Its name reflects the belief that the Mother of God quickly hears and responds to sincere prayers offered with faith and humility.

History:
The original miraculous icon is preserved at the Dochiariou Monastery on Mount Athos, Greece. According to Orthodox tradition, a miracle associated with the icon occurred in the seventeenth century, after which it became known as "Quick to Hear" and gained widespread veneration throughout the Orthodox world.

Iconography:
The Virgin Mary is depicted holding the Christ Child on her left arm. Christ extends a blessing, while the Mother of God points toward Him as the source of salvation and eternal life.
