Ring 04029

The ring depicts the oldest “basic” ornament: cruciferous flowers folding into circles. In paganism, this pattern was a symbol of the continuity of the movement of the sun and moon, where the cross denoted the sun, and the circle denoted the lunar day. In Christianity, the circle became a sign of God and eternity, and the cross became a symbol of Christ.
Such an ornament began to be comprehended as an image of union with God and eternal life in Christ.

“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me,” is written on the inside of the ring.
