A glass holder is a Russian invention. Its appearance was associated with the custom of tea drinking, which was widely popular in Russia in the 19th century. Strong aromatic tea "in Russian" is an indispensable attribute of a noisy feast, and intimate conversation, and solitary thinking. In the memory of older people, the glass holder is strongly associated with the travelling by railway, and late gatherings in the kitchen, when the most important “life issues” were discussed. From the moment it appeared in the middle of the 19th century to the present day, the cup holder has been the subject of decorating the table during tea drinking.

You will not find such a choice of great samovars or glass holders in any store in Canada!

Tea glass faceted
On September 11, 1943 a faceted glass was invented. On this day the first Soviet faceted glass was produced at the oldest glass factory in Russia in the city of Gus-Khrustalny. The design of the Soviet-style faceted glass is attributed to V.I. Mukhina, the author of the monumental composition "Worker and Kolhoz Woman" ", but there is no documentary evidence of this. Faceted glasses are still produced and are used in catering establishments, as well as in passenger trains (usually with a Tea Glass Holder).
